Wanted: Senior Project Manager, Organization Effectiveness

Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager role is responsible for leading and managing a portfolio of client programs from initiation through delivery. Client programs can include training workshops, assessments, surveys and specialized facilitation. The role requires the development of suitable strategies and objectives in collaboration with the client and Business Development Consultant, ensuring flawless execution of the project.

The successful candidate will work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. He or she will be responsible for formulating, organizing and monitoring inter-connected projects, coordinating with others to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and coordinated. The role requires a creative and dedicated individual who can work in an agile, collaborative culture.

 

Responsibilities

  • Formulate, organize and monitor inter-connected projects
    • Meet with clients and Oliver Group resources to understand project scope and clarify specific requirements of each project
    • Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities and resources needed to successfully complete the project
    • Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
  • Manage client relationships and expectations while coordinating efforts and communications
  • Decide on suitable strategies, objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
  • Coordinate cross-project activities with Oliver Group and external resources (as applicable)
  • Lead and evaluate a team of project coordinators
  • Develop and control deadlines, budgets and activities
    • Review the project schedule with client; revise the schedule as required
    • Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Apply change, risk and resource management
  • Communicate project plan, project status, risks, and learnings to the appropriate audience
  • Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
  • Anticipates issues and proactively resolves
  • Identifies opportunities to improve, simplify or streamline processes and practices
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
  • Identify and analyze root cause of issues, develops short and long-term solutions for continuous improvement
  • Facilitate after-action reviews and/or follow up with clients to gauge satisfaction
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong project and portfolio management experience; proven achievement of goals/outcomes
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills that can be employed when partnering with client and other partners in order to build relationships and achieve goals
  • Ability to think and act with a focus on the holistic needs of the client and influence others to do the same
  • Highly proficient at problem-solving challenging business issues
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership
  • Comfortable working with all levels of management, with ability to critically evaluate and communicate business issues/risks with conviction to client and partners
  • Ability to present to all levels of clients
  • Analytical and strategic focus, with ability to drive exploration and draw conclusions from multiple data sources
  • Ability to juggle overlapping and frequent challenging commitment timelines and reprioritize as necessary in order to meet evolving business objectives
  • Ability to display empathy and leadership with clients and colleagues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • 5 year’s project management experience in Human Resources, Talent Management, Training or Organization Development
  • 2 years’ experience managing others
  • PMP Certification
  • BS/BA in a related field
