Wanted: Client Services Director

The Client Services Director will be responsible for executing Oliver Group’s strategic plan by delivering world-class solutions and the highest of quality of service. We are a 30+ year old entrepreneurial firm looking for a leadership team member who wants to build future growth. This role reports to the President and currently has seven direct reports. To succeed in this role within the first year, the outcomes and responsibilities are:

Service Planning

  • Capacity Planning: Match demand for services with our resources available to manage the work
  • Research, evaluate and recommend future service offerings as fits within the Oliver Group’s vision and client needs (2018 and beyond)
  • Work with the Director of Client Development to roll out new services to our entire team (education, process, etc.)

Service Growth

  • Develop/review content for all client communication to increase visibility and value of our services and beta test new ideas (collaborate with VP Sales/Marketing)
  • Support Consultants/Area Directors with complex business development planning, calls and follow up with prospect/client to create and execute the right solution
  • Speak and write on leadership topics in our markets to establish credibility and increase Oliver Group brand awareness (leverage our management team and other differentiators)
  • Educate Oliver Group employees and outside contractors about selection and leadership development topics and trends

Quality Delivery of Services

  • Select, hire & train quality individuals for delivery of Oliver Group work with clients
  • Manage external partners and contract employees
  • Be the “traffic cop” for all delivery to ensure capacity is matched to client work
  • Deliver solutions as needed
  • Set and manage client expectations for delivered services and evaluate Oliver Group performance
  • Ensure processes are in place for preparation and delivery of services
  • Continuously improve programs using client and consultant feedback. Create new content when needed to keep current and to fit with the Oliver Group brand

Effective Leadership

  • Coaching and mentoring of direct reports
  • Develop effective partnerships with Oliver Group strategic partners
  • Keep current on emerging leadership research, surveys, and topics
  • Participate in operations meetings and discussions and partner with finance, business development and Executive Team
  • Travel as necessary (approximately 20%)

Qualified candidates will possess the following qualifications and experience:

Overall, a desire to grow a company and make an impact on organizations and individuals.

  • Extensive leadership development experience in several environments
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Advanced degree in business or related field preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills; Public speaking experience and skills are a must
  • Innovation experience: The ability to recognize opportunities for improvement, contribute to change and execute new ideas
  • Ability to organize and manage time to operate effectively in a fast paced, competitive marketplace
  • 10+ years success in developing relationships in complex business environments
    • Experience in networking/interacting with C and other levels
    • Intangible sales or influencing experience at the C-level, including negotiating and relationship development
    • Large organization exposure, experience and understanding
    • Professional service company experience a plus
    • Proven ability to build trusting relationships
  • Knowledge of and savvy within business environments
    • Revenue generation
    • Margins/cost of sales
    • General and administrative areas
    • Ability to create and execute plans
  • 15+ years general business management experience
    • Staff management
    • Budgeting
    • P & L responsibilities
    • Experience working in a fast-paced, high accountability environment
    • The ability to self-motivate and work collaboratively
